The visitor visa (Subclass 600) is helpful for tourists, business visitors, and those who prefer to visit family or friends in Australia for 3, 6, or 12 months.
You should have
- Intention to be in Australia for a visit only.
- Enough assets for your stay in Australia.
- Need to be in Australia whenever you apply and when your application is being decided.
Visitor visa for family
- This visa will grant you 12 months stay
- You can visit family members, have a holiday.
- With the Australia tourist visa for families, you can study for up to three months, but not if this is your primary purpose for visiting.
- You must be sponsored by an Australian citizen or permanent resident who is a member of your family.
- A security bond may be required as a guarantee from the traveler’s sponsor.
- When you apply and your application is getting processed, you must be in Australia.
Visitor visa for business
âĒ You are permitted to make a short visit for business purposes, but you are not permitted to work or sell products or services.
âĒ While your visa is valid, you are allowed to enter Australia once or several times.
âĒ When you apply and your application is getting processed, you must be outside Australia.
âĒ You will be granted 3 months stay.
âĒ Valid purpose includes making business enquiries, official government visit, business investigations or to attend a trade show, seminar, or conference if the organizers have not paid the applicant to participate.
Approved destination status stream
âĒ This visa allows citizens of the People’s Republic of China (excluding SARs) to travel to Australia as part of a group tour.
âĒ You must stay with the organized tour group.
âĒ You can stay for the period or until the date specified in your visa grant letter.
Frequent traveler stream:
âĒ You will be granted a stay for 10 years.
âĒ You must have a passport issued by the People’s Republic of China, except for Special Administrative Regions.
âĒ Before you apply, you must supply biometrics in the People’s Republic of China.
Know fundamental eligibility
- The applicant for this visa stream should either be in or outside Australia.
- If the parents of Australian citizens are eligible, then they might be granted a visa longer than 12 months.
- People with tourist stream visas cannot extend this visa to stay longer beyond their visa period. They are permitted to apply for a new visa if the current visa does not have any condition that prevents further stay.
- This visa stream does not permit the purpose of business or medical treatment.
- Tourist visa holders are not allowed to work in Australia.
- Tourist visa holders are permitted to study for up to 3 months.
- The applicants need to have health insurance and should meet the health and character requirements.
- Tourist visa stream does not include family members, and so, each member of the family willing to apply for this visa must lodge a separate application form.
