Why Engineer Skill Assessment
Prior to lodging a visa application as an engineer migrating to Australia you are required to complete a skills assessment with Engineers Australia.
Do you know way for Engineer Skill Assessment ?
There are two ways for the engineer skills assessment :
- Accredited Qualification
- Non-recognized Qualification
Accredited Qualification
You should have the evidence of the professional qualification along with an academic transcript of the degree qualification. The degree must be
- An Australian engineering qualification, or
- An overseas engineering qualification that is recognized through a formal agreement with engineering accreditation bodies in other countries.
If you have an overseas qualifications there are two pathways:
- The Washington Accord, which deals with undergraduate professional engineering programs

Non-recognized Qualification
In this way you have to submit a Competency Demonstration Report (CDR).
This detailed report must include following :
- Qualifications attained
- The application of engineering experience and knowledge
- How competency standards of the relevant engineering classification in Australia have been met.
